My husband Cameron and I have worked, lived and raised our two children in the Beenleigh area since 1989. In that time we have been involved in all levels of local community, from our children's schooling programs and committees, sporting clubs, community groups, charities and business organisations.
As small business owners our family has experienced the normal ups and downs of running a business and providing for our family. These skills are invaluable and ones I have used when helping our community.
Over the last fourteen years I have worked in the real estate industry where I have mastered the skills required for successful business outcomes for my clients. Currently, I'm a part of the team of local boutique agency, Vision Property Group.
After considerable thought I have decided to raise my hand and become a candidate for the 2020 local government elections. I have been serving our community for many years in different roles and NOW is the time for me to take it to the next level and truly serve the people of Beenleigh, Eagleby and Mount Warren Park.

"Karen is enthusiastic and supportive to work with and is well regarded by her peers and young people.
Karen has a passion and a vision for Beenleigh and surrounds and has been working closely with the Logan City Council administration staff during her term as President of the Chamber.
I have been working with Karen for 6 years as a member of Quota and also as a member of the Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce Executive, and I commend her to you as a worthy candidate for a councilor role for division 12."
"Thank you for your work as President of Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce over the last two years. The restoration of the Chamber of Commerce has been a challenging and sometimes difficult job. One you have achieved with positive results both in good governance and sound financial management.
Within this time, I have been very impressed with your commitment to restoring community harmony and pride in the Beenleigh Area. Particularly the positive “4207 Heaven” slogan and mantra. It has been inspirational to see a leader not only talk the talk but walk the walk.
Over the last ten years, your role throughout the Beenleigh community has been noticed and appreciated. Your work with mentoring the Junior Chamber of Commerce and Junior Quota has ensured that our young people have been involved in their community and has resulted in many achievements for them and our district.
With your ability to work with all types of people in difficult circumstances and unite them in a common cause to progress our area, I believe that you would be an excellent candidate for Division Twelve in the upcoming Logan City Council."
